This Wisconsin winter has kept snow plow drivers busy and schools empty on a few too many days. Due to inclement weather, the MPSD was closed for five days recently and Lincoln High School was closed for an additional two more in fall due to a ceiling collapse. To make up for lost time, the MPSD will adjust the calendar as follows:

  • Schools will be in session on May 24, which was set aside as a makeup snow day.
  • A March 15 in-service day will change to a regular school day
  • Lincoln High students will add 14 minutes to each school day, so the first bell will ring at 8:10 a.m. rather than 8:20 a.m., and the school day will end at 3:31 p.m. rather than 3:27 p.m.
  • Changes to Lincoln’s final exam schedule mean students will be in session a full day on June 5 and for a half day on June 6. All other schools will follow the current schedule with a half day for students on June 5 and a staff work day on June 6.

The MPSD hopes Punxsutawney Phil’s early spring prediction does come true this year so no more adjustments need to be made.  Thank you to the MPSD community for their cooperation and understanding.  Please enjoy what is left of this winter.
