In 2008, I moved to Wisconsin and started working as bilingual teacher. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Spanglish, love to travel abroad and nationally. Some of my hobbies are: gardening, painting, reading and bossing my husband around for home improvements. My favorite sport is football, and yes, I am a big fan of the Packers "Go Pack Go"

Education has always been extremely important to me, a sentiment that I always instill in all the students I work with.  Perseverance, hard work and resilience are three words that define me to the core. Social justice, community help and support are my sidekick activities. Helping and lifting others has always been my call, I guess that is why I love teaching!

Educational Background: I have a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary studies from Texas, went through my Wisconsin teaching certification at UWGB (traditional way), UW Oshkosh (Bilingual), UWGB (ESL) and I am currently working towards one of my Master's degrees.

Emma SasserEMILY (EMMA) SASSER- Lincoln Science Teacher
About me:
I live in Neenah with my husband Skylar and my two cats. I have a very close knit family so we all live within 5 minutes of each other! A fun fact about my family is that both my sister and I are teachers, and both of our husbands do something with corrections (either police or prison security)! All throughout my life I have been the nerd girl, so I love stuff like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and superheroes (Wonder Woman is my favorite!). My husband and I have been watching an absurd amount of Anime right now, my favorites being My Hero Academia, Dr. Stone, Demon Slayer and Jujitsu Kaisen, at least right now! We usually watch 6 or more shows at once so I always find new favorites. I also collect FunkoPops!

A fun fact about me not related to nerdy things is that I love going to rock concerts, mainly nu metal and power metal. I've attended about 80 concerts in the last 5 years alone, not counting 2020. I am excited to get back to regularly attending concerts, Comic Cons, Renaissance Festivals, and rock and mineral shows in the next couple years!

Educational Background:
My first degree is a technical diploma in Dental Assisting, I worked as a dental assistant for a couple of years, it was fun but it didn't satisfy the need to help change the world for the better, so I went back to school in 2013 for my Bachelors degree. I graduated with a BS in Geoscience and Environmental Science. Since there were not a lot of jobs in the Green Bay/Fox Valley area in science, my sister said I should pursue a degree in teaching because I would rock at it! So as of January of 2021, I received my teaching certificate for secondary levels, and I hope to have my masters degree in education very soon!
I am looking forward to working with MPSD this year!

I grew up around hunting and still enjoy hunting deer. I currently spend my time enjoying the challenge of house projects, exercising, spending time with my dog and being in nature.
Educational Background:
After graduating from Stephenson High School in the UP, I attended Central Michigan University and graduated with a major in Earth Science and Special Education. I later went to Saginaw Valley State University to earn a General Science major. Additionally, I took a concentration of math/algebra classes so I could be qualified to teach Algebra 2 for a couple of years as a temporary solution for my school. My first professional job after college was at a small Michigan school, Mio AuSable Schools. I started teaching in a special education class for the emotionally impaired. As schools started shifting to inclusion, Mio shifted my position to a combination of science and special education. I spent many years at Mio AuSable Schools teaching a variety of science classes and supporting special education students. I raised two sons who both graduated from Mio as salutatorians and played a variety of sports year round. One son, Micah, is living in Grand Rapids and working as an RN. My other son, Seth, is married, living in Grand Haven, just graduated with a doctorate degree in pharmacy and is now employed as a resident pharmacist in a hospital. Although Mio was dear to my heart, it was time to move closer to family. Anticipating this move I bought a house in Two Rivers in 2018, close to the beach and all the wonderful trails. I began fixing it up so I could eventually retire from Michigan and live in Two Rivers to enjoy more time with my family. I retired from teaching in Michigan this past June. I have three sisters, a brother, five nieces and a nephew. I am hoping to watch more of their high school activities in the next year while enjoying being part of the Washington Middle School.
