Pre-School Screening

Parents who have concerns about their three, four or five-year-old's growth and development can request an appointment to bring their preschooler for a developmental check-up as part of the MPSD's Child Find screening program, coordinated by personnel at the Riverview Early Childhood Center.

Child Find

Child Find is a FREE developmental screening program for young children who live within the Manitowoc Public School District. Child Find also serves as the first step in referring a child for services that are available throughout the district.

Child Find screenings take place throughout the school year (not during summer) and are open to children ages three or older (to kindergarten age), whether established residents or new to the school district.

How to Begin

To begin the screening process, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire based on your observations of your child. Your answers will be our first step in determining if your child's development is on track or if we need to get further information to pinpoint areas of potential concern.

If special needs are discovered during a screening, school personnel and parents will discuss educational services offered by the MPSD.

Screening is free and all information and results are confidential.
